Welcome to Grade 2/3!
Here is some important information to keep in mind as we learn together this year:
Our Weekly Schedule:
P.E. - Wednesdays at 1:20 - 2:10
Thursdays at 2:10- 3:00
P.E. is taught by Ms. Fong. Please ensure that your child is wearing proper gym clothes and running shoes.
We will also be running outside (weather permitting) at 10:20 - 10:40.
Library - Mondays at 2:10 -2:45
Thursdays at 9:50 - 10:40
Students in grade 2 are able to borrow up to 2 books and students in grade 3 are able to borrow up to 3 books during library book exchange. It is important that your child return or renew their books during our book exchange times. Other times that your child will be able to return/renew books are in the morning 8:30 - 9:00 and afterschool 3:00 - 3:30.

Buddies - Fridays

Agendas:
Important information and notices will be in your child's agenda. Please ensure you read and look in the front pocket of your child's agenda daily. Please remember to initial your child's agenda.
It is important that your child bring his/her agenda to school every day.
Please free to communicate with me through the agenda.
Attendance:
School begins at 9:00 am. It is important that your child arrives to school on time. If you are late to school please make sure you sign in at the office.
School ends at 3:00 pm. If you need to take your child out of school before the end of the day please let me know by leaving a note in your child's agenda. Please make sure you sign your child out in the office if you pick him/her up before 3:00 p.m.
If your child is sick please keep him/her at home. Rest is important to getting better faster. Please notify the office if your child is sick and will not be attending school. A big "Thank you!" to the parents who have already donated a box of facial tissues for use in our classroom community.
Scholastic Book Club:
Scholastic book orders will be coming home with your child once a month. If you decide to order books please submit your order and cheque (payable to Scholastic Canada) by the due date of each month. Please put all orders and cheques in an envelope or Ziploc bag with your child's name clearly labelled.
Due dates: Due dates are stamped on the top left hand corner of the front page.
Book Prices: Please look in the BC column for book prices.
Birthdays:
We will not be having birthday parties but you may send a small treat for the class to celebrate your child's birthday.
When bringing treats, please keep in mind:
1. We have students in our class who have nut allergies. Please make sure all items coming into the class are peanut and nut free.
2. Snacks should be in individual-size servings. (for example: cupcakes vs. cake)
3. Please let me know in advance if you plan to bring a treat for the class. The best time for them to arrive to the class is anytime in the morning before recess. Recess starts at 10:35.
4. There are 20 students in our class this year.
